This is the second part of my first post, "Bachelors Without Degree". I divide the website lists in order for the reader to be not overwhelmed with numerous sites in a single post.
Various Subject Accounting/Finance IT/IS
Udemy
is one of the most popular websites for online courses. There are tons of courses listed here, made by a lot of lecturers. Not only the courses only the paid ones, but also it has thousands of free courses. And the paid courses are very cheap compares with other MOOCs, it also in certain times in a week (almost every time) will have around 75%-90% discount or a discounted flat price on most courses. Other than that, there is a website that shares a specific course in Udemy that if you click will direct you to that course page in Udemy, and a coupon is applied so it will be no cost in checkout. That's all the pros of Udemy MOOCs, while the cons are because there are a lot of lecturers and courses which identical, so, it is a must to be picky to choose the course or the lecturer who has good ratings and reviews. Since, even though the course has a good rating, a lot of students who enroll in the course, and thousands of reviews, it is better to seek other courses from a different lecturer to do a detailed comparison, so you could enroll in the best course for you. How to find the free courses is shown in the caption on the image below. Website: Udemy.
openlearning
is a MOOC that collaborates with various education providers and organizations. There are 154 free courses on this website. What interests me the most is there are courses about Autism (Indonesian Course) and a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR course. The pros are the unique course I stated before, while the cons are fewer courses than other platforms and a need for background checking the lecturer. Website: openlearning ; Free course: Free.
Guru99
is a website that gives you free learning through text and images (screenshot). Even though the material is not in a video form, like other learning platforms -, Guru99 gives detailed step-by-step text and image learning. Guru99 provides various IT/IS courses likes AI, big data, web, etc., and for me what's best is the SAP course which I couldn't find on other websites (if you know any, please contact me :D). Other than that, there is a Live Projects which will send you a task through email to be completed in 24 hours, for several days, depending on the projects. Here is the website link: Guru99.
W3Schools
is a website that provides tutorials, quizzes, and exercises on IT/IS subjects for free. There is a certification but you should pay for it. The pros of W3Schools are it gives complete tutorials which give examples on each of them, and after you learn, you could apply it through the exercises, and after all of it is complete, you could practice more with the quizzes. The cons (from what I found) are no examples/exercises of combined/complex materials. Here is the website: W3Schools or Learning.
Damodaran Online
is a website by Professor Aswath Damodaran, a teacher at New York University Stern School of Business. This website provides lectures about Corporate Finance and Valuation. You can find a lot of types of resources provided by Professor Aswath Damodaran on his website; there are PPT, YouTube videos, notes, iTunes, tests, etc. Damodaran Online also provides several course programs: semester-long classes, executive programs (shorter), online classes, etc. Even though no certificate could be earned, the given material is excellent, and it has the most essential aspect, which is everything in there can be accessed for free. Here is the link for the website: Damodaran Online.
PY4E - Python for Everybody
is a website specifically for learning Python Programming Language. It is made and taught by Dr. Charles R. Severance. On this website, you can find free access to the course. You can choose several types to learn the course: the PY4E website itself, YouTube playlist, book, and those MOOCs I stated before. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) OpenCourseWare
is a website that publicly shares course material from MIT to be accessed by the world. There are lots of topics available here, such as Fine Arts, Science, Business, etc. The course provided also varies in level, it could be for Undergraduate or Graduate. The year of the course is also stated on each title, so we can know whether it is an old course or a new delivered course. The course is in videos, handbooks, notes, exams, etc. For the credibility of the course is no need to discuss it; we all know MIT. Sad to say, there is no certification on completing the course.
